15IPS Tape Saturation Colour mkI (Discontinued)
- Full Kit
- Step by Step Guide
The 15IPS mkI has been replaced by the 15IPS mkII.
15IPS is a filtering and saturation Colour inspired by the natural compression and frequency-response characteristics of high-quality analog tape. 15IPS provides focus and heft to the low end with the resonant bass "bump" for which tape is known. At moderate levels, NOS Germanium diodes begin to gently round off transients and generate subtle, warming harmonics. When pushed hard, the circuit will impart copious amounts of musical distortion.
- Resonant high-pass filter simultaneously clarifies and magnifies low end
- Germanium diodes yield soft, tape-like compression and harmonics
- Compatible with the Colour 500-Series Palette
- Yellow PCB
- Full, step-by-step assembly instructions and guaranteed support
See audio tab for more samples.
Depending on how you set the Saturation control, 15IPS' tone will vary from just a hint of body to rich, gooshy saturation. The samples below demonstrate the sound of 15IPS with the Saturation control set to 50%.
