Easy to build and makes testing my diy 500 series gear way easier.

Easy and relatively uncomplicated

Maybe it's just because I wasn't looking close enough, but I installed the ribbon cable upside down on one side because I wasn't paying close enough attention to where the red line on the cable was. Maybe in the instructions you guys could show pictures of the specific orientation of the ribbon and mention the red line.

It’s a utility and you might as well make a couple of these while your soldering iron is out. They’re great for calibration and measurement for 500 builds.
