The PR502 is a 2-channel, high-current, 500-series chassis in a desktop or 19" rack-mount format. The assembly process is fairly simple, and does not require dealing with wall power.

Rugged and refined

The PR502's minimalist, all-black chassis is made from anodized aluminum and powder-coated steel. The compact case fits into any desktop setup, while the optional rack ears make the PR502 compatible with standard 19" racks.

High-current, low-noise

Our custom, universal power supply provides up to 250mA of clean current per channel—almost double the 500-series spec—and can power up to four PR502 racks (eight modules). Additional filtering and regulating in the chassis ensures that the power for your modules is stable and dead quiet.

Simplicity is a feature

While the PR502 is designed with an emphasis on simplicity, it is a full-featured 500 rack.

  • THRU jack for powering additional racks
  • LED power indicators for +/-16 and +48v
  • Neutrik XLR audio jacks
  • FEED feature turns your PR502 into a channel strip by patching channel 1 into channel 2 without a cable
  • Compressor link
  • 11" x 8" x 1.7" without rack ears

Beginner friendly

Assembling the PR502 is safe and easy, thanks to the external power supply and our step-by-step instructions.

Estimated build time: 1 hour

Unfortunately, the following brands' modules are wider than the 500-series specification and do not fit in the PR502:

  • Rupert Neve Designs
  • AudioScape

Solid and reliable after 1 year

I found this as a solution for portable preamp/compressor for tracking vocals on the road. I filled it with an API 512V + DBX 560A (Revive mod) and It's become one of my go-to vocal chains. Has worked flawlessly after a year.
My suggestion for improvement is an on/off switch.
If there was an option for a smaller, more portable power supply that would also be cool.
But overall I give it 5 stars and I look forward to checking out more of their gear. Thanks!

PR502 500 Series

I really like this Kit, very easy to built, nice size.

Can be easily portable, or racked.

I like the material specially the PCB and the rear panel.
The finish of the paint and the panels looks very good.

It lack of a pole in the front and rear so it feels more sturdy when handling, but that its easy fix. You can use metal, wood and different bumpers. If you racked then is not a problem.

Its also good you can assemble it, that way you can use the parts or solder of your like.

All screws and parts are very tight, and feel really good.

The option to add more in series is really great. The cable feels of good quality.
The power supply look a little big and his plastic feels cheap, but its a power supply, so if works who cares.

I think, i will be buying more of these. Having more 500 Series are very versatile and using the same power supply for this its great.

Great rack

This this sounds clean! I am so impressed for the money. The power supply seems like it will last. The tops and the bottom metal are a little flimsy but for the 1 hour build and sound I am very happy! Thank you
