Preorder FAQ

Pre-Order FAQ

When will my card be charged? You can pay via credit card or PayPal during checkout. Your card or account will be charged right away.

What's the shipping cost? US shipping is free! We offer a few international shipping options starting at $15 which you can choose during checkout. International customers, keep in mind you may need to pay duties to your local customs agency.

When will the kits ship?
Our estimated ship date is 9/30/2015.

Could shipping be delayed?  Yes, but it's not likely. We've made thousands of DIY kits since 2010, and built a very robust supply chain. All of the parts for this kit will be coming from trusted vendors we've used in the past. We will keep you updated with our production progress and if delays do crop up we will let you know right away.

Do any Colour modules come with the kit? No, the kits do not include a Colour module. You can add any Colours you want to your cart with your CP5 preorder and we will ship them all together: Browse Colour Modules.

Why should I feel safe preordering from DIYRE? We understand that preordering takes a leap of faith (I myself have backed a couple Kickstarters I'm beginning to suspect I'll never see the rewards for). However, we're an established company with a track record of successful preorder campaigns. While we can't guarantee our projected shipment date, we do guarantee that you will receive your kits, that they will meet the quality described here, and that you will be able to reach us via phone or email at any time during the production period. We're in this business for the long haul and we know that it relies completely on your trust and word of mouth.

Can I get a refund on my preorder? It's ok to change your mind during the preorder period. Contact us any time before 8/1/2015 to cancel your order and we will send you a refund right away with no questions asked. However, we cannot honor refund requests after 8/1, as we will have committed to manufacturing a certain number of units at that time.

How difficult will the kits be to assemble?  Like all of our kits, the CP5 is designed from the ground up with DIY beginners in mind. Kits will be accompanied by step-by-step instructions and email support. If you follow the instructions, there is no risk of electrical shock and very little risk of damaging an expensive component. All that's required is some soldering experience, patience, and attention to detail. If you can built a guitar pedal, you can build the CP5.

What will the final unit look like?  The appearance of the production units will be very close to the prototypes pictures with a couple small differences:

  • The front panel shown above is a rendering. The production front panel will be made from anodized aluminum. It will have the same finish as the Colour 500-Series Palette
  • Some components will added/removed/rearranged on the printed circuit board. The prototype pictured doesn't include some final tweaks to improve DIY-ability of the PCB.

If you have any questions that weren't answered here, please don't hesitate to contact us.
