PR502 2-Slot Extender Kit
Extend your existing PR502 without having to buy the external power twice. The PR502 Extender kit includes a THRU cable instead of another power supply, so you can daisy-chain power from your other rack.
Only buy this kit if you already have a PR502 Chassis with External Power Supply.
You can daisy-chain up to four PR502 racks for 8 channels total.
Note that this extender kit works with the PR502 2.0, introduced in 2020. If you purchased your PR502 before 2020, please contact us to order a compatible extender kit.
I’ve built a number of pieces of kit from DIYRE and this was one of the easiest. In a little over an hour I had a nifty little enclosure for two 500 units in my rack. The instructions were clear and easy and there really aren’t all that many parts to deal with here, so it’s a satisfying and easy build. The only thing that was a little tricky was soldering up the wires for the extender cable, but cables always give me a bit of trouble, so that’s might just be a “me” thing. One thing to be aware of is that the extender cable isn’t particularly long. I originally planned to put the PR502 3-4 rack spaces away from the unit it’s sharing power with, but had to revise my plans so that it’s within two. No big deal, but worth knowing before you start racking things up.
This is my second PR502. It works perfectly, the instructions are very clear and easy to follow.
